Customer COVID-19 FAQs

The safety and well-being of our customers and staff is our utmost priority at Ichiba food hall and online marketplace.

We're continuing to follow official guidance from the UK Government and Public Health England carefully to ensure a safe in-store and online shopping environment for all our customers.

All our sites conform to the highest level of food safety, and hygiene with all staff following all PHE hygiene and cleaning guidelines and protocols.

Below are some FAQS to help you understand how we are dealing with the current situation.

  1. What measures do you implement in store to protect the customers?

    To help stop the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented the following measures:

    Face Coverings: Customers must wear a face-covering whilst shopping with us or collecting an online order. They can be taken off when eating in.

    Cleaning Stations: Please use the antibacterial gel on entry to the store to help protect others.

    Social Distance in Stores: While shopping in store please keep maintain a safe space between yourself and other shoppers.

    NHS Test & Trace: We ask you to scan the NHS Test & Trace app when you dine in.

    Extra Cleaning: While continuing to maintain high standards of food safety, the store team will continue with increased levels of cleaning of all customer touchpoints.

    Staff Health: All team members including delivery drivers complete health questionnaires and checks prior to beginning work & wear PPE as required.

    One Way System: To help you and our staff move around the store safely we have introduced a one way system. Please follow the directional signage.

    Cashier Screens: We have installed screens to help protect our staff and customers.

    Payments: When shopping in-store, contactless payment is preferred but we will accept cash.

    Condiments & Cutlery: Condiments and cutlery will be given out with your meal to help reduce infection.

  2. Can I still get Japan Centre Ichiba delivered?

    Yes! You can still enjoy our delivery services from as well as as Deliveroo and UberEats

  4. Are your staff trained to deal with Coronavirus?

    We are continually updating our guidance to staff, suppliers and customers on a daily basis to ensure we are following correct procedures and guidance from Public Health England and the NHS to ensure the safety of everyone.

  5. Where can I shop online?

    If you are unable to come to Japan Centre Ichiba, you are still able to shop online for all Japanese ingredients and groceries from us at (London region only) or at (Nationwide delivery).
